  • The Blanc Manteau apartment is located alongside the Hotel de Ville and almost next to the Notre Dame Cathedral, just across the water. It was made famous by the 19th century writer Victor Hugo’s ‘Hunchback of Notre Dame’, and visitors come in masses to the cathedral.

    If you would like to know more about Victor Hugo you should head east to Maison de Victor Hugo, the estate where he once lived, wrote and ultimately died. Another well-kown piece of work of his is the infamous Les Misérables, which he also wrote here. The museum holds more than 450 illustrations that he made to illustrate his work. The nearest Metro stops are St-Paul or Bastille.

    If you go immediately to the west of the apartment along the Seine, where you find the ever-popular Louvre. One of the world’s largest and most prestigious museums, it has a collection of over 35,000 objects from before history was recorded and up to the 19th century.
