The area is known as the 4th arrondissement of the city, known by the locals as the very heart of the most important visiting sites. Besides a lot of museums it houses the famous Notre Dame cathedral next to the Seine River.

     

    The Centre Pompidou is a modern museum that stands out in this otherwise historical part of town. It houses a library, Europe’s largest modern art museum, and a centre for music and acoustic research. This modern building is a piece of art by itself, as you can easily entertain yourself by just sitting aside of it and looking at all the external work that looks as if the inside of this place is placed on the outside.
