  • You will find the Aboukir I apartment located just north of Notre Dame and close to the Sentier Metro station. The Sentier district was originally known for its textile manufacturing. A few of those companies are still here, but nothing on the scale of its industrious past. These days the area is more famous for its shopping possibilities. Be sure to visit the astonishing Galeries Lafayette.  Located close to the Opera Garnier, this popular shopping centre has the most incredible architecture including an amazing glass dome and an extremely stylish Art Nouveau staircase. The department store is now recognised as an official heritage sight of the city of Paris. Galeries Lafayette is open daily until seven thirty in the evening and nine o’clock on Thursday evenings.

     

    The apartment is just a few stop on the metro away from Gare du Lyon railway station making it ideal for business and leisure travellers alike. Located at the station you will find the one of the most opulent and famous restaurants in Paris, Le Train Bleu. With its ornate golden interior with beautiful paintings of the city on the ceilings this is a feast for the eye as well as your tummy. Regulars since its 1901 opening have included Coco Chanel, Brigitte Bardot, Jean Cocteau and Salvador Dali. More recently the restaurant became immortalised on film in Luc Besson's ‘Nikita’. Popular all year round, the restaurant serves 500 diners daily.
